For Evolution's office in Bulgaria we had to solve not only the visual issues of the space, but also the functional frustrations flagged by the different teams in an already operating office.
Design that starts with people
To that end we gathered input from the different teams on their everyday frustrations: no place for coats and shoes during the frequent coffee breaks, noise, lack of privacy, harsh light from the south-facing windows, no space for the TechOps team’s tools, the need for a new training room with enough desks, the creation of new small office rooms, and more. We ran a thorough analysis of how the different teams use the rooms in the building.
We integrated the corporate symbols, logo and colours into the interior design after studying the company’s brand book.
An airport-style lounge area
What makes it specific is that staff work solo and in shifts, which calls for an entirely different layout of the lounge area. Here we designed a series of single armchairs, each with its own acoustic partition, giving 25+ people the option of privacy at once during short breaks: an approach typical of airports.
